How to Vote as a College Student

EDUCATION SCHOOL COLLEGE BLUE.png

You have two options

Choose to either register in your hometown or where you attend school.

Decide which one based on where you’ll be on election day, and which elected officials will impact you the most.

Register in your hometown

You can request an absentee ballot from your Arkansas hometown county clerk’s office, if you maintain your hometown registration, even while you’re at college.

You will vote by mail through an absentee ballot.

Vote where you attend school

  • If you attend school out of state and wish to vote in your college town, you must register with that state in order to vote there.

  • If you moved from out of state to attend school in Arkansas, register to vote with your college’s county clerk.

  • If you are already registered in Arkansas, but now attend school elsewhere in Arkansas, then be sure to update your registration with your college’s county clerk there.
